The original one (1984) was even more dreadful if you can believe it.

I never saw the old 80's one it always just looked weird and bland and the trailer made it look boring (I also thought the trailer for Blade Runner made that look boring too) so for the same reason never watched it.
I did go to the more recent Dune and (while I'm not proud of my sometimes simplistic brain) I enjoyed the giant sand anuses. I couldn't follow the story and there wasn't a damn thing that made sense ... and i think I might have snored a bit two thirds of the way through because I found pieces of popcorn around me but I never bought popcorn!

The 84 dune is so terrible it's good.
Re-make took a couple plays to like it.

I loved the original by David Lynch. One of my favorite science fiction movies of all time. House Harkonnen! The remake is okay and actually explained alot of things that weren't apparent in the original film, believe it or not...
Never saw it. Wasn’t interested in that dumb shit. A good comedy, a gore horror film or action. Sci fi movies these days are complete shit. And Hollywood can’t make good movies. It’s all remakes. I loved Lynch's version of Dune (1984) and wasn't too keen on the recent film adaptions initially. But, I quite like them now.
