Have You (or a loved one) Ever Undergone Electroconvulsive Therapy?

Growing up in the 90s my mom had severe depressive disorders and psychosis and eventually was given electroconvulsive therapy as a last resort. When I was a kid, I was told that she was getting a little shock that would help her feel better. She has since passed away, but when I look back, I remember that she was acting more normal immediately after treatments, but the benefits always faded away.

Has anyone here undergone this treatment recently or ever? How did it make you feel? Did your symptoms improve? What about experience with loved ones? What decade?
I don't feel electric convulsive therapy eases depression. It instead worsens depression.

It has been and continues to be used successfully in treatment resistant depression, but as you note results can be transient. Recently developments in psilocybin, ketamine and deep brain stimulation are promising
