I can. The worst one i ever drove was an old water tanker truck with a 10 speed manual when I was in the military. None of the other tards in my unit knew how to drive it

I bought a 71 c10 back in 2000 with one. Never drove a manual in my life. But I learned from there. Bought a 2001 1500 v6 with manual. And I have a 2010 ss Camaro with 6spd.

Ppl are fucking dumb. They buy shit that looks good but doesn’t even last 100m miles. Manual transmissions are cats meow

I learned to drive on a manual. I've had several, including a 3 on the tree work van. Even had a nice Alpha Romeo. Interestingly, the van and the Alpha were both the same year ('74 I think).

Of course most motorcycles are manual. I've been on those since I was 15.

I hate automatic transmissions, even the so called good ones dont know when they should shift, you have no control over the revs and engine braking, transfering weight in the corners by downshifting, it just sucks.

I learned to drive when I was 13 with my dad's 3 ft long stick shift in his F150 extended cab. He let me drive around town alone at 14 and by 15 I was allowed to go wherever. Times change, I didn't have to complete "hours" but my sister is 2 years younger and they made her do that. Last, good generation, us older millennials

My first experience was a push button Chrysler. Cool setup. The buttons were like the old AM radio buttons. They were vacuum operated and you could hear hissing and clunking as you pushed them.

No steering lock. No seatbelts. No airbags. Steel dashboard and a steering column that would go through your chest in a crash. AM radio standard. FM optional. No stereo, just one speaker in the dash. Cigarette lighter and ashtray standard.

Somehow we survived.

I dated a guy who was useless and he couldn't drive a car with a manual transmission.. I got pulled one night and the cop asked him why he wasn't driving and when I told him he couldn't drive a stick shift the cop told him he wasn't a man and what the fuck was wrong with him.. I didn't think it was that serious, but looking back it was probably a red flag I should have considered??

I can, been doing it since I learned to drive, in the nineties. It's very easy, it becomes an automatism, you don't need to think about it, like a second nature - and if you slip up the abused gear box will snarl to let you know!

Not only can i, it doesn't have to be on the floor I can drive it on the tree. clutch or no clutch no problem. Syncros were out on my trans. I learned how to find the sweet spot while driving lol
