Serious I NEED HELP !!

I have a pb . I have a lot of videos recorded on Bestgore many years ago that are on an external hard drive but this one does not appear when I connect it to my pc . I tried several YouTube tutorials but without success !! someone would-there is an easy method to remedy this pb?? I would obviously like to post these videos on GG !!

The guy still wants access to his drive though. This happened to me some years ago the PC just wouldn’t see the drive my mate at the time fixed it pretty quick and easily how I don’t know but it can be done.

When was the last time you accessed the external hard drive and what OS did you use to access the drive? What are you running now, Windows or Mac? USB A I presume? Does the external HD spin up?

This is probably an obvious one but I'll mention it simply because it's all I needed to do when one of my external drives suddenly stopped registering - someone told me just swap the cable and when I did it started working like normal - worth a try, and try a few cables just in case.
I have another harddrive that pops up a window every time I plug it in that says "There is a problem with this hard drive" but it never says what that is!! so I click the window away and it works like normal. I still to this day don't know what the fuck is wrong with it so I've been transferring the stuff on it to another one just in case. Computers are cunts of things, they're designed to fuck with your head and patience - and wallet !
Try swapping leads
If it asks you to reformat DON'T !
if you have another device like a laptop or ipad or another computer try and see if any of them respond , just in case it's the computer and not the drive that has the issue.
Try and Run a Malware scan over it - Malwarebytes is free online to try and it worked for me to get rid of an annoying pop up from adware I couldn't get rid of. There's a chance it might fix a bug.
Other than that , I wish I could help more. (punching a hole in the wall with your fist wont fix it but it sure can feel good in the moment !)

@Richard 1986 yeah make sure the cable accepts data transfer some don't, appart from that perhaps the bus is busted, in which case you need to replace it.

As in the harddrive bus not the computers, most like the usb b bus if it's sata to usb that is. That's what usually wears out first.

Though best bet take it to an it store, they have the tools usually to diagnose the problem, doesn't sound like software if you tried everything else.

I bet that drive is a parallel ATA (IDE) drive. You said it was an external drive. Do you see a model number on it anywhere?

If you don't know how to use Windows disk utilities and diskpart from command prompt you probably need a geek
