I actually have thought about this because I would wonder if I’m a psycho for watching gore but I realize it’s for me like horror movies. Horror movies don’t scare me at all but gore does. I imagine I’m getting out of gore what other people get out of horror movies.

In real life you are right it’s a whole different thing than a video on a screen. I’ve never seen someone die like that but I’ve seen dying and dead people in bad shape from cancer and it’s just way more impactful to be there in the moment in real life. To smell, to hear, to see in reality is just different: with the gore on here there is a screen separating me from the reality. I’m sorry you had to experience that btw.
