Canada has always been their post-1945 "promised land".
We have to keep reminding ourselves that these people (OUN-B / UPA Banderists) aren't just "evil BECAUSE they collaborated with the Reich", but because their OWN savagery was such that even the Germans in Ukraine (who had always played the "divide and conquer" Ukrainian vs. after the massacres of civilians in the summer of 1943, were disgusted to the point of... starting to supply arms to Polish villages (until the Polish government in exile in London forbade accepting arms from the Germans, condemning entire villages to an atrocious death).
What Ukrainian nationalists did to Polish civilians in Volhynia in the summer of 1943 HAS NO equivalent, horror-wise, in post-Middle Ages Europe. Nowhere before or since has such savagery been achieved.
Neither the Germans nor the Soviets did anything like this.
These people have always been poor soldiers (just look at the military value of the 14th SS, it's peanuts: against the Red Army it was a rout, cf. Brody), but they have always been "strong" (and "inventive") against women, children and old people.
