they make LED bulbs to shine like a soft white bulb,as well as many colors. not just their "one million candle", light bulb.

One thing I've learned is if the gov't is pushing something, it's probably not going to help me...but may harm me.
To clarify, I'm not against the new LED lighting standards in general. I think they're beneficial in public infrastructure, public buildings, hospital, schools, and businesses.
However, I want choice in my home, and authorities should have made an exemption for private homes.
I would even have been okay with the Tier One restrictions that
@Dolly was referencing, and would have compromised and used the halogen replacements...72w, 53w, 43w, 29w, which would have been perfect.
I'm want choice with how I light my home...who can argue with freedom of choice?
Now to shine a spot light for a moment on the Man who started it all. Even though he electrocuted Topsy the Elephant, simply to try to prove his DC was superior to a rival's AC, he still helped light up our world.

Also, on a final note, his original lab is in The Henry Ford / Greenwich Village in Dearborn, MI. Apparently, HF went around America and consolidated its best pieces back to Dearborn. Orville and Wilbur Wright's original bicycle shop is there, as well.
I went there several years ago and I highly recommend it everyone, but especially men...super interesting stuff.
