A woman identified as Amanda Ferreira de Araújo, 31, died after being hit by a collapsed marquee in the Felicianos neighborhood, in Belo Jardim, in the Agreste region of Pernambuco. The accident happened on Monday afternoon (07), around 5:40 pm.

According to the Fire Department, Amanda was sitting on a chair on the sidewalk of her house when the structure gave way and fell on her. The victim suffered an exposed fracture in her leg and a deep cut on her head. She was taken to the 24-hour UPA, but did not survive her injuries and died after arriving at the unit.

The firefighters isolated the area to prevent further accidents. Civil Defense was called to inspect the structure.
