I am a ghost. 2013
6/10
A ghost is talked thru going to the 'otherside'.
Written and directed by the same person, this is a low budget but effective ghost story.
The first 20-30 mins, the film is only 75 long, is a series of static scenes and repeating actions. When the medium contacts the ghost the story pushes forward.
It falls back to the repeditive scenes again which is where it kinda lost me a bit. The ending was creepy but i had hit the FF button a few times before then.

The Frenchmans Garden. Spain 1978.
8/10
A pair of blokes running a tavern illicit gambling/whore house on the side kill wealthy patrons.
Quality crime drama based on a true story at in 1904. Called 'The Frenchmans Garden' they would murder rich gamblers and bury them in the garden. The film has a steady pace with a couple of quite creepy scenes. There is a core cast and believable plot. Simple but colourful and easy to follow.

There is no trailer online.

Attack of the adult babies. 2017
6/10
Three members of a family are forced to commit a burglary to save the dad/father.
This film obviously knew what it was going for before filming even began. Cult status as one of the 'stranger than strange' films.
It hits that mark, very effectivly. There are a few twists in the plot, but the whole thing is low budget, the practical effects are good, the acting so-so. Jokes are plentiful but they do deal alot in shit. I was kinda bored near the end, but for most of the film i had a smirk on my face at the oddball things that were going on.

Eng: The Beyond
Lucio Fulci
1981

I really enjoyed it, reminded me quite a bit of the evil dead, good gore effects and a really interesting but effective soundtrack.
It sure wasn't high art but it was fun. 5/10

The golden glove. 2019. Germany.
10/10
Based a true story of a serial murder in the 70's, Germany.
A ugly brute of a man Fritz Honka hangs around a shit bar called The Golden Glove with the other bar flys and tries to pick up the aging of whores that drink there.
The first part of the film is really gritty and brutal, there is nothing nice as it reflects exactly what the original flat looked like. The end credits show the crime scene photos from inside the flat, the production did an excellent job recreating it.
The second act shows him getting it together only to fall back into his old ways with the end result being his capture.
Henry: Portrait of a serial killer came to mind while i was watching this, but this is a few steps up of the nasty scale.
An excellent film.
