Doco about a the history of 'folk horror'.
Catalogues the history and what actually inspires films that are in this genre. Starting with english films, it moves to the states then on to a few other counties throughout the decades.
It has alot of clips from alot of films, some probably not worth the watch, but usually a person linked to the film or someone with knowledge of it.
The run time is 3 hours and it does get a little overbearing. Very in depth about the style of the genre and what makes it unique and how it relates to local cultures.

A rich woman and a deckhand are washed up on a deserted island.
She complains about everything, including the fact he is from the south and therefore uncivilized. When they get stranded together on a island he uses this to his advantage.
Those two largely make up the bulk of the film in the middle. He goes kinda overboard in his 'revenge' but as the plot progresses the fall for each other.
Slight comedic moments with the ending taking a interesting turn in that he tries to get her to go back with him, but she ditches that idea and flies off with her husband and he is left with his wife and the kids.

Paul is found dead later in a cottage, and Jimmie and his friends and girlfriends are visited during a dinner party by Robert Downing first and then by the sadistic Mortimer and his partner Rick seeking the truth about Paul and a suitcase with a mysterious relic. The second story takes place in the Middle Ages, where the cruel David Deming and his minion Tom Brewster chase the renegade priest James Flynn in the name of the Inquisition but actually trying to force him to reveal the secret of the Eternal Heart to grant immortality.

Ayka is a immigrant who escapes from a maternity hospital leaving her new born son. The film follows only her as she tries to find work, avoid the police and people who she owes money to.
This is the plot of the film, the camera follows her as she goes from place to place with no real help for her and nothing that could be considered a stroke of luck. It's a bleak gritty film that deals with the reality of life.
When the people she owes money to find her, the viewer is left in no doubt that she is pretty fucked. It ends with her back at the hospital getting the baby for them but running with it.
The film ends with her terrified and crying.

Breaking bad - the best TV show of all time. It was set and filmed in Albuquerque, New Mexico, and tells the story of Walter White (Bryan Cranston), an underpaid, overqualified, and dispirited high school chemistry teacher who is struggling with a recent diagnosis of stage-three lung cancer. -Tucker & Dale vs Evil- Have seen this so many times and still as funny as the first time I watched it.
-In the vein of Shaun of the Dead, Tucker & Dale is a wild, wonky tale of two hillbilly buddies trying to survive their vacation in the woods when they are mistaken for killers by a gang of college kids. Our heroes valiantly save one of the college girls from drowning but are accused of wrongdoing. The chase ensues, not treating the students too well, leaving us with a gory but hilarious tale of two hillbillies and their hearts of gold.

The presidents last bang. 2005. South Korea.
Policital thriller about events in South Korea when the president at the time is assassinated.
Interesting and tense with a number of characters. Little confusing as to who they all are but that soon is not a problem.
The 3rd act of the film is where is started to tail off, with the main guy dead its just dealing with the situation of who will run the country and what will be down with those who were in on it.
