Good ole' Alphabet City antics. There's a squatters colony one block over called C-Squat that's run by punk rockers who live there rent free, they have a half pipe in the basement. The city couldn't dislodge them so in the end just sold them the entire building for $1. They got a multimillion dollar building in Manhattan for $1 simply because they refused to leave, amazing history. Turns out society is only hard to live in when you follow the rules, break the rules and the world is your oyster! Alphabet City we salute you!
