Pregnant teenager found dead in burnt-out house with uterus removed

THE mother and stepfather of a pregnant teenager with a mental disability have been charged after she was found dead in their burnt out home with her uterus ripped out.
Police have accused James Holland, 39, of raping his stepdaughter Holli Jeffcoat, 18, multiple times over 10 years.
The girl’s mother, Debi Holland, is accused of helping him carry out and cover up the abuse.
Holli was found murdered in house in Lubbock, Texas, on February 10. Her throat was cut and her womb and uterus were removed

According to the court documents obtained by the Lubbock Avalanche-Journal, the first sign of abuse against Holli happened in 2008 after she was involved in a car crash.
Blood tests revealed Holli was diagnosed with a sexually transmitted disease.
Eight years later on January 29, Holli told school officials she had been impregnated by her stepfather, according to court documents.
Holli told the school official “she didn’t want to go home with dad because she didn’t want to have sex. The sex hurt.”

Because Holli was in special education and her mental age was the equivalent of a six or seven-year-old, she was incapable of giving consent for sexual intercourse and is a disabled individual, the court documents state.
The documents say her mother told officers that whoever impregnated Holli raped her as she was “mentally slow.”

Investigators say the killer tried to cover up the crime by starting a fire.
The stepfather was arrested on March 10 and charged with continued aggravated sexual assault of a child in an unrelated case. Authorities said he will also face other charges.
The mother was taken into the Lubbock County Detention Center under a $US500,000 ($A666, 500) bond with additional charges pending.
