A woman in South Korea took her obsession with crime series to a real extreme. Jung Yoo-jung, 23 years old, was sentenced to life in prison for committing a murder “to try it out”. According to the police, she contacted more than 50 people through a tutoring app before choosing her victim: a 26-year-old teacher. Disguised as a schoolgirl, she managed to get into her home and attacked her with brutality.

After the attack, she took a taxi and tried to transport the body hidden in a suitcase, but the driver noticed that blood was leaking out and alerted the authorities. She confessed that she acted out of curiosity after consuming crime content in books and television series. Although she claimed mental disorders, the court ruled that it was a meticulous and terrifying plan.

IDK, for some reason a Japanese women's prison doesn't sound like much of a punishment to me. I picture the prisoners all in traditional silk robes, only they're orange with a black number on the back, but other than that they likely have tea ceremonies and do arts and crafts all day, there certainly aren't any riots or shankings. The majority of the "badness" of prison is the fact that in most countries the inmates make the experience bad for eachother, I can't picture that in a prison for Japanese women.

Even though she’ll be imprisoned in S. Korea, I would think the fact that she cannot leave whenever she wants and will have a very mind-numbing regimented existence will surely lead to her being quite miserable. And with how famous she became from it, they’re probably making an example out of her so she’s won’t be leaving until she’s in a coffin.
