They did it immediately, as if this type of thing had happened before.
I live in the US and I have never known anyone who got shocked with more than 115 VAC.
I agree, I live in Texas and we have plenty of stupid people that would do the same here unfortunately😂😂 luckily the power companies realized that and put our electrical lines up much higher😂😂👍
But I'm sure it still happens here 😂

My kid was playing with another child in the neighborhood when something got stuck on the power line. The other child's mother suggested getting a stick to knock it down. According to my son, he told her that her idea was a very bad one. As a parent, it made me nervous to have my kid visiting the homes of adult idiots. Still, I'm not aware of anyone that I have ever known to get shocked by the power lines.

What was he carrying ? It couldn't have been wood unless it was wet.

Sticks can be used as long as they are dry.

I wish you were joking, but I don't think you are.
I don't know why you wrote that, but it's absolutely wrong.
Those power lines have between 4 KV and 34 KV, and just because a stick is dry doesn't mean that it's not going to conduct electricity.
Why did you write that?

We cut limbs off of lines all the time that's why. Wood doesn't conduct electricity unless it's soaking wet. You do know power lines are held up by wood right? If they were a conductor then they would be unsafe to be around.

Wood is a poor conductor of electricity. Wood exhibits minimal electrical conductivity, making it a good insulator and reducing the risk of electrical shock or short-circuiting in wooden structures or products.
