In a flood-affected area of Sangam Vihar, New Delhi, India, several youths were travelling on an autorickshaw when it broke down. While the youths were attempting to fix the vehicle, a passing water tanker passed by and splashed water on the youths.
Infuriated, the youths surrounded the tanker and began throwing rocks at its windshield. Eventually, the driver of the tanker, 35-year-old Sapan Singh, accelerated his vehicle and escaped the scene, running over one of the youths, identified as Saddam, in the process.
Shortly afterwards, though not seen in the video, another passing driver, Bablu Ahmed, asked the youths why they vandalized the tanker. He was stabbed by the youths, and is recuperating in hospital.
Sapan stopped his tanker a short distance away and fled.
