Not a parachute…but whatever.
They did prevent it. Which is the reason he walked away and wasn’t toasted to a crisp like all the electrocution vids from India. When you hit a live wire in MOST other places in the world, the extreme change voltage causes the breaker to trip and immediately cuts all power. Just like at your house.
