I had a Moldovan try to do that to me when I was a lil' reaper. Some of them are similar to Gypsies. It didn't end well for that schlub because KGB agents were always following my group as we toured Kishinev (now Chișinău), back in the old USSR days and they dragged him away. I didn't even have to punch him after I grabbed his wrist trying to get into my pocket for my wallet. I just twisted it upward and held him there, the agent appeared from nowhere, snatched his narrow ass up and off they went after a tip of the undercover's cap and a "Scuze!" (Sorry!) Good times. That was the only attempt at my pockets before or since. They are bad in Rome too, especially around the ancient ruins and St. Peter's Square in Vatican City. I am a fan of Charles Dickens and of his 'Oliver Twist' and as such, I am well versed in the Artful Dodger's artful dodging.
