A retired military policeman, identified as Clédio V.C., 50, was found dead on the farm where he lived alone, in rural Pirenópolis, Goiás state, Brazil.

The body was found by neighbours who went to the house after noticing the victim was missing. According to a neighbour, Clédio had last been seen on April 8.

The victim was retired from the Military Police and lived alone on the farm, in an area that was difficult to access and far from the city.

Investigators believe that the victim suffered a sudden illness and the dogs devoured his body because they were hungry. According to the civil police, the circumstances of the death are still being investigated, but there are no apparent signs of a violent death.
