My parents and all the close people think I'm weird and I'm mentally ill for watching gore, my friends call me psycho for liking these kind of videos but I wanted to know who else has the same situation, why do people think we're weird for watching gore? What's the problem if watching gore and liking it? I think it's normal.

The thing is that a normally functioning human brain is able to feel empathy. Seeing people getting hurt makes healthy people uncomfortable. Lacking empathy is a trait of a psychopath/sociopath

We can still feel empathy. But it has already happened. Our empathy won't help. Plus it gets you in touch with reality. Back in the day, people saw shit like this on a regular basis. But now we so desperately try to hide it so that we lose our grip on humanity and life. Death is a part of life. So we should celebrate it just as we celebrate birth. Since in the end...

Are cops, and rescue people "weird" as they not only see but smell, listen and handle the "gore". How about the trauma units in hospitals ?
It is simply human inquisitiveness-normal to see human carnage. Because we don't see it a lot in daily life.
I have drove up on 3 car wrecks that had carnage "sprayed" and displayed . I get busy. Helping those who are still breathing and have a chance. I am not effected by human carnage. Unless it is children or needless .

Weird is not exactly the word I'd use. From my own experience....
And I'm talking about a few family members in specific....
Their reactions towards it were fear and disgust. Extreme disappointment.
Scared to be around me or even sleep while under the same roof.
This was from reading True Crime books and being on Rotten.com once and a while.
It's not an addiction. It's a curiosity. I call it that because gore in itself is not pleasant.
It made me feel so ashamed and it still does. I have feelings just like any other humane human being.
I'd never harm anyone. I never have and never will. It was and I believe would be today, an extreme overreaction.
It will never mean that we belong in a mental asylum. In which is what was thought about me.
People fear what they don't understand. They fear harsh realities.
The truth may be terrifying but what is even more terrifying in my opinion, is the denial or refusal to see it.
That is a real danger. People preferring to be comforted by lies...
