snowy July avalanche covered a mother and daughter in the mountains of Sochi

They were overwhelmed by huge blocks of ice: one of the women was thrown 10 meters down the slope by a powerful blow from an ice boulder in the back, a piece weighing about 100 kilograms rolled down the second. The tourists had to go through a terrible test of reaction and dexterity in order to survive.

A mother and her 29-year-old daughter were walking along the Alpine meadows (an eco-trail in Krasnaya Polyana) when a real snow avalanche came down from the slopes. They desperately tried to dodge the falling ice stones, but there were so many of them that they could not do this. One was knocked off her feet by a huge boulder and thrown down. A giant boulder rolled across the second one.

The 29-year-old girl was taken to hospital with various injuries where she later died. Her mother refused hospitalization.

Tried to look it up but to no avail. Slight conjecture: after her daughter died, it went down hill for her. Yeah so, it might stemmed from that.
