Guns the husband killed a federal judge on suspicion of having an affair with his wife, cut off his penis and put it in his mouth

Guns
Retarded or not... I thought it was funny. ๐Ÿ™‚ Freshmeat there probably just didn't read the title is all or think of it like that.

I'm surprised no one has made a crack about his rifle.
Thank you. I'm actually accustomed to local people not getting my jokes. I'm a Yankee now living in the South. I have to be careful that people don't take me seriously in person, and then I kind of let loose on this forum. :)

You're welcome & samsies. You like it though. There are certain aspects about the south I won't ever like I guess & though a yankee & city girl, technically, I've lived most of my life in the south. ๐Ÿ˜ฌ
I think it's more urban v. rural living in the USA nowadays that used to be north v. south issues, minus slavery ofcoarse. There's still indentured servitude & I guess some might view marriage like slavery.
I would like it if "body slaves" were still allowed, like aristocratic Romans had & other cultures. The closest thing is a "sex slave" these days I suppose but, that's not really the same. ๐Ÿ˜ If I live long enough to see domestic robots become a reality that might be similar.

When I was married, I often felt like I was the slave. The baby would cry at night, mom would pretend to be asleep and not wake up, and so I was the slave who had to change a diaper. You thinking about sex robots, also? That might be nice. With my luck, the damn thing would always tell me it has a headache.

I am from the west coast but living in the south. To them Iโ€™m a yankee, to me itโ€™s a dumb label.

Initially when I moved here I was shocked at how โ€˜dumbโ€™ the locals are. And while I still think they are, Iโ€™m also seeing a nuanced complexity to their society that appears foolish to anyone not born into it. Does it make them dumb? No, probably not, but Iโ€™m not going to try to change it. Just abide and let them do their thing.

Ok all that to say - there are differences in parts of speech that ppl from the south donโ€™t understand. Like understatements and sarcasm. They view it as offensive.

That's precisely what I have found here, in the mountains of Western North Carolina. 35 years ago, a woman told me my eyes look glassy. I told her that I had joined a cult. Her jaw dropped, and she absolutely thought I was serious. What cult member refers to their organization as a "cult?" Who in their right mind would explain their own glassy eyes by saying that they have been brainwashed? I thought it was obviously a joke, but not to her.

People in the south choose to purposely sound stupid though. However, if they drop the thick southern drawl, easily they gain 10 IQ points, maybe more. I think they do it to be coy on purpose especially early on when they're sizing a person up.
That makes them seem dishonest some how & semi fake. It's either that or they are just stupid. ๐Ÿ˜’
It can be a major turn off.

I once new a woman with a sweet and sexy southern accent. After knowing her for years, she got mad at me one time and started yelling at me. There was no trace of that accent. It didn't help that I started laughing and I actually asked her what happened to her accent. She got quiet.

do they ask what church you're from? I'm looking at Johnson City TN area, but I sure wouldn't like that.

We intend to leave in the next 3 yrs, for more familiar grounds. This is NW Arkansas, which is having itself a bit of an influx of ppl bc Walmart corporate is recalling all remote positions back to one of three main hubs.

Theyโ€™re much too polite to call you a yankee or any other disparaging name. But youโ€™re not from here, youโ€™ll never be from here, youโ€™ll always be an outsider.

And they drive like morons. Like having the right of way but waving ppl through, that kind of shit. Itโ€™s not being nice, itโ€™s being idiotic driver. Slowing down on the interstate to let ppl merge in at 50mph, fucking everything up behind them. Or moving over into left lane that is going 10+ mph faster than them (and not speeding up to match) bc a service vehicle is on the shoulder. Fucking up the entire traffic flow behind them.

I could bitch all day about their driving.

So, you've met atleast one too. Yup, it be just ! like ! that! WTF is that about? All the ones I met were adults, well into adulthood. It's some sort of strange fake bullshit game they're playing like they're freaking pod people that used to be real once but, aliens replaced them slowly, entire towns, all over the south! It's like Invasion of the Body Snatchers really happened! ๐Ÿค” I'm being dead serious too.

I was perhaps 27 and I that was a new experience for me. The first time I ever saw that woman, she said hello and a really sexy, southern accent. It got my attention. I had no idea it was fake.

so it's like everywhere else, at least with the driving. I guess it's true, there is no Utopia anywhere.

That's every "town" in America pretty much. The distinguishing factors being population & type of governance. It's not just a southern thing. I experienced the same thing in easily a half dozen small places in the north too. They don't drive the speed limit there either & it's really noticeable.

I could bitch all day about their driving.

Lol. Yup. Sunday drivin' when it ain't Sunday! Fake dialect they choose to do...
I'm tellin' you... They're all friggin' pod people & they make my eye twitch. ๐Ÿ˜ค

She sounds like a damn pod person too. ๐Ÿ˜ฌ It also sounds like you didn't get laid. ๐Ÿคญ๐Ÿ˜„๐Ÿคฃ๐Ÿคฃ๐Ÿคฃ There's something I notice about you that is a detriment to you living in the south now... you weren't raised in the church & it definitely shows. You said about the woman that was shocked about you joking about "cults" but, you weren't stateside for the Satanic Panic it sounds like possibly. That was a big deal in North Carolina in particular. This was back in the late 80s, early 90s, maybe you were but, you weren't part of one of the infiltrated churches I would say then. There were many abused from that era & it is absolutely real & the awareness campaign was to wake people up & to recognize whether their church is a (bad) cult & if they have been brainwashed or not.
