Your comment made me think- are there any kids of that popular form of medieval punishment? A few chefs/ cooks that allegedly poisoned their guests were boiled alive. Typically done by first immersing the condemned up to their groin and then raising him into the air, followed by immersion to the shoulders. Finally, the victim is completely covered in boiling water/ fat.
After the 2nd dunking, the individual began suffocating due to the seared lung, diaphragm and neural connections, which would be right.
