Looks like the operator dropped the clutch threw it into third gear and went full throttle. We all know how it is when you hate your job.

I used to love going on The Egg (official name Rock- O- Plane) because it felt like it could fall apart at any point. It was a decent buzz. I remember there was a death in the UK when one of the ‘eggs’ fell off. We then used to dare each other to go on it.

We felt the same way about the Mean Mother Zipper. Rickety as shit, you could almost loosen the bolts by hand.

Showride accidents I remember over the years include the Spin Dragon collapse involving multiple injuries, and one where a little Asian girl was thrown out of a ride she was too small for and died as a result. The ride was shut down but the carnival continued.

A young boy, 13, was hurled from a fairground ride and crashed into a pole, leaving him with one lung after ‘lock breaks’.

MF, 13, was knocked unconscious and had to have a lung removed after slamming into a steel pole, watched by sickened crowds.
