What are your thoughts on assisted suicide?

A few years ago a man was stabbed in the neck, by a stranger, in the Netherlands, and was left paralyzed from the neck down.
He was assisted in his suicide by the medical staff a few weeks after the attack citing severe psychological stress as the reason.. I was shocked that the doctors approved this so quickly after the injury.

I’m all for it. Life can be painful. We are brought into the world without consent, may as well let us have a choice in death.
