What's your favourite horror video game?

I’ve never been the same since playing Soma.
Soma had a great story and visual experience. Talk about existential mind fuck!
But the monster mechanics were broken to the point that it was unplayable.
It was just completely random when you got killed, it had nothing to do with skill, stealth or tactics.

It was one of those games you one and done. Fortunately I am a pussy and did played it exactly as the developers intended.

I agree about the mechanics. But I loved it.

The original Resident evil games: 1, 2, 3

Amnesia: the dark descent is really good.

Shadow of Chernobyl, not strictly a horror title but made me piss my pants a few times.

Eternal Darkness on the Gamecube was probably one of the most unique horror games I've ever played. Definitely play on a smaller screen for the best effect.

Resident Evil 4 is a top one for me too

As I don't have a video game console, I gotta go with Dead By Daylight Mobile. I play it at least 1 hour or more a day. It's an amazing game considering it's on my phone. 💀

The Little Nightmares series is definitely a favourite. The aesthetics of the game is wonderful, and the story is so fucked up.

Alien Isolation is an absolute classic in horror and suspense.

Phasmophobia, though I appreciate it more for its strategy than its horror. Still, it startles the shit out of me sometimes.

Resident Evil 2 on first PlayStation.
The zombie doberman dogs diving through the glass windows when you walk down a creepy corridor!
I paid £50 for that too! I've honestly never spent that much on a game since. But it was worth it at the time!
I still remember the fear I felt playing that on PC as a kid, home alone, in the dark with headphones on.
