Why are so many people against socialism/communism?

Objectively a socialist or communist state sounds like a pretty good deal for the citizens and the government. Obviously you can take it too far like North Korea but I feel like China has the perfect balance of the two. As someone who’s lived in China, surviving is just so much easier. I actually had a very hard time when I moved back to the states financially. My healthcare was completely free or very inexpensive in China and it seems like the quality of life is still pretty good even if you age a poor worker. I’ve always been fascinated by the red scare era of American History. ( this is my 1st post btw so sorry if it’s terrible )

The mere fact that the ONLY way to implement socialism or communism in a population is through acts of VIOLENCE should be enough to understand why so many people are against it...

Sorry, I guess having a psychology and a neuroscience degree and being in graduate school to be an occupational therapist makes me a moron. And I’m also sorry if you never get to travel anywhere and experience other parts or the world instead of your own echo-chamber.
If you have those degrees and your asking why do people have a aversion to socialist /communist ideologys then yes.

Thank you for your response! It’s so interesting watching videos of North Koreans and the way they live under the absolute rule of the government. When you compare that to a nation like the United States, it’s a day and night difference. The Soviets really did a number on that county. We all would benefit from being a little more content in our lives instead of always chasing more or trying to one up the person next to us. I guess whatever system you pick , you’ll always get screwed over by the ultra wealthy top 1%.

At the federal level, the top 10 percent of income earners pay more than 60 percent of all taxes and 72 percent of income taxes, shares that have been increasing over time.

In the United States, the The lowest-income 20 percent of earners, measured by adjusted family cash income, face average tax rates that are either negative or close to zero. A negative tax rate means the taxpayer is a net beneficiary of the tax system, likely receiving refundable tax credits, such as the earned income tax credit (EITC), child tax credit (CTC),

Yeah there screwing you over those dam top earners !!!!
