Generally, yes, But we still have problems like poverty, organised crime, domestic violence and murder. Australia is vast, and a lot of people go missing every year and are never found, presumably murdered. There is a lot of stories of serial killers that have never been caught. Wolf creek the movie is based on one of these and in my area people keep going missing. A backpacker just went missing near where I live and hasn't been heard of since and we have had a few of these...
You bet it does. Ice( meth) is a big problem at the moment... And cocaine use is going through the roof. Ecstasy was really big in the nineties with the doof(dance parties) scene. Smack(heroin) was big in the seventies and eighties. Large amounts of the population smoke weed but it is declining as they drug test drivers for weed and the tests are that sensitive that you will get picked up even though you had a joint a week before. Licence is automatically cancelled for 3 months. Without a car, you are stuffed and end up in the poverty cycle...

Frightening when I drove the balanglo state forest numerous times and flew past it commuting from Canberra to Sydney regularly. Begs to reason that the tally will be higher as the forest he used as a dumping ground is vast and totally inaccessible in parts. He will meet his maker soon as is gravely ill and probably won’t be long for this mortal plane. Good riddance frankly but I think the whole Milat family was complicit in the abductions and murders...
