movies Last Movie You Watched..

Been a long time since I've seen this, its dated a bit but still hilariously as fuck. The entire cast and the direction deserves high praise.

The Harry Potter series.
In order of release.
Num1. 6/10
Num2. 4/10
Num3. 4.5/10
Num4 6/10
Num5 5/10
Num7 3/10
Num8 Yet to watch.
My flatmate loves the books, enjoyed all the movies, and the latest 'Fantastic beasts' series. I thought i give the whole series a watch while on holiday. What a test. The first film is good, sets everything up and they discover a 'stone' that doesn't mean anything. The action scenes when they came were great, but the films churned out massive amounts of info about...well, just meaningless shit to me. I fell asleep twice trying to watch the third one, resorted to playing them on my laptop, listening like a podcast, looking round if it sounded good.
By 7 i was bored, no real idea.
Dunno if i watch the last one.

Awesome. Quite the pair Bronson and Coburn. Entertaining and hard hitting.

Bacurau. 2019. Brazil/France.
7/10
A kill-for-pleasure style trip headed by a older german bloke with a brit and a few americans goes wrong when the locals figure out whats going on.
Slow but interesting film. It seemed like a less hyped up version of films where a human(s) are hunted for sport.
The Hunt, Surviving the game, Hard target.
Good movie if you just want a slow low budget film with some gore.

77747-split-decisions-0-230-0-345-crop.webp Pretty Good. Cast delivers their best. Decent if a little too predictable story. 6/10

Liberty for all. 2019.
Did not finish.
A indie comedy set mainly in a van, i lasted about 45 mins and although it had a diverse bunch of people acting in it just seemed to be going nowhere.

Port of call. Hong Kong.
7/10
Strange film from Hong Kong about a girl murdered, a bloke turns himself in, no corpse. Just over 90mins long the film is based on true events. The structure is that some parts are flashbacks that show the young lady, her sister and mother living in a tiny apartment and what went on at certain times.
Then it jumps to the present and shows the detective working the case. The film does a good job of not being confusing during these time jumps and presents a rather sad case of, in the end it seems, it young woman who just didn't care anymore.

Only the second time I've seen this and not since it was first released. Solid shit...and I don't give a fuck its historical accurate either. It keep me interested and more importantly awake. Jane has always been good but this is his best. p34703_v_v8_aa.webp

Innocent witness. 2019. South Korea.
8/10
A young autistic school girl is sees an incident across the road from her. She is the only witness.
Really nice drama with an excellent performance from the girl portraying the character with autism.
The film has a few plot lines going on but nothing to complicated and has a really nice message about just being nice to one another.

Better than I expected. Great cast doing great work. 8/10

Carlitos way. 1993. Dir. Brian de Palma.
10/10
A ex drug dealer with the help of a crooked lawyer gets released from prison with the aim of going straight. Old habits die hard.
Tense and very well filmed crime drama starring Sean Penn, Al Pacino and others.
Long scenes with the camera moving around the actors, use of overhead and upward looking views, the epic chase scene at the train station made the film a pleasure to watch.

No this was a mind fuck watching these two in a row. Excellent in every way but "In the Mouth..." far superior. Sam Neill showed more range in that than most ever get to showcase in many roles. I totally was with him on his journey. Hutton in the Dark Half is really fucking great...I think the story, direction usually hit but when it missed, it nearly missed right off the mark. Only a few times though nothing movie experience shattering though.

Give them combined a 17/20
