accident Last day on the job

On Wednesday afternoon (15), the Minas Gerais Military Fire Brigade (CBMMG) carried out a rescue operation following a fatal accident at the COPASA wastewater treatment plant, located in the municipality of Cape Verde, at Rodovia BR-146, km 422.

The call was received at 5:58 p.m. and it was reported that an employee was missing following a tank explosion.

An explosion of unknown cause ejected a steel plate, striking the worker and throwing him into the reactor. The body was submerged in a tank containing around 600 m3 of waste and was never seen again.

Firefighters and the COPASA team emptied the tank to locate the victim. Experts from the Minas Gerais Civil Police (PCMG) took part in the operation.

After around five hours of effort, a body was found in the tank. For the evacuation, firefighters used personal protective equipment, special suits, lighting and self-contained breathing systems. The body was transported to the Forensic Medical Institute (IML) in Poços de Caldas. "

That plate probably weighed about 30 lbs. falling from that height would kill any man. Heck probably even an elephant if it hit animals skull.

Shit happens. Seems to be real this time. So unlucky fellow. Survied first explotion only to get object ito head and drowned to shit. If this is not a epic death? I wonder what could it be?:stirshit:
It is sad cause after the initial blast knowing he was still alive he had hope for survival during his escape it was lights out.

Wow that was unlucy it landed on him. I wonder if he was smoking and it lit the methane?
It does not appear that he was smoking. It looks like he moves his leg to push something with his foot before the explosion. If you watch closely and slow the video down on the zoomed portion you can see something flare up under his foot just before the explosion. Could be something electrical arcing or metal on metal sparking that ignited the methane. The flare is extremely small. It will be difficult to see on a small screen unless you can zoom way in and it is only visible for a couple of frames at half speed. It's just a flash on normal. It looks whatever he did there caused the explosion.

That plate weighs a fuck lot more than 30lbs. You can tell by the way it falls and how it lands. Assuming a rough dimension of 2'x4'x1" and made of steel as stated, that plate will weigh more than 300lbs. My father kept a 3'x3'x1" slab of steel in his truck bed for winter traction. It weighed about that much.

speaking of steel our bones can be as dense with the proper diet and exercise. Father sounds to be a man of knowledge something tells me he worked a lot. One winter we weighed the truck down with so much carpenter material I thought we were doing a wheelie haha. That was during my teenage years working with subcontractors. I’m a bit stoned rambling beyond this point. Stay stay and healthy!

I've been conditioning my skull for years. It gets denser every time I bang it on something.

Yeah. My old man was always a working man. He hates being idle.
