28 Years Later Sequel Coming ALREADY in January 2026

The cinematography is stunning. A lot of it was filmed on iPhone 15 pro max. With custom rigs attached.

Also, it’s totally non-woke. They used a fat Chinese guy for one of the infected but otherwise it is actually what you’d see in the north west UK after a rage epidemic. All British people!

I’m interested to see how the ninja Jimmy Savilles play out 😂.

Was ungodly hyped for the first film, 28 Days is an absolute classic for me - but 28Y didn't hit the mark I was looking for.
They're good films, but not good horror films! I hope 28Y:TBT cranks up the horror and suspense to eleven like the first, while also keeping the quality of the story telling intact. Have nothing but the best wishes for the team working on it!

Oh yea that’s cool, I didn’t know that about the filming.

About the woke, isn’t there a significant minority of mainly south Asian people in the uk so wouldn’t that be realistic to show some? Even if that area of Britain doesn’t have a lot of non-white people, a lot of people from other parts of uk would go up there in the event of an apocalypse no?

Indeed. Horror is one of my favorite genres and my favorite sub genre of horror is the zombie film so I was also psyched. It’s one of the few movies I went to the theater to see.

I was also also disappointed by some of it. One major thing was the cliffhanger drop off the Mariana Trench ending of that movie. After I was like wtf now we gotta wait another ten years to see what happens. Next thing I know I see this bad boy is coming out so I can’t wait because if 28YL 2 is as good or better than 28YL 1 and answers some questions then the 1 will go up in rating in my mind.

Hbu?

we don't like seeing minorities in film, don't you get it? I haven't watched mass media for decades now, it's mostly all degenerates anyway.

It’s set around Newcastle, and 28 years ago it was predominantly white British working class. So it’s accurate, based on the rage virus starting in the past.

And Danny Boyle is such a good director he won’t bend over to woke and add diversity for the sake of woke, I respect that.

I found the film a very interesting watch and almost made me miss my childhood back home in the Highlands with the tight-knit community and horror stories of the mad-man down the road.
Then again, I was going into the film expecting it to be as thrilling as the first regardless of how well the story was told; my only main gripe IS the horror, otherwise I think the film is a great all-rounder. As the saying goes, a good film but not a good 28 Days film.
I think that once this trilogy is completed, the first film's major plotholes and story beats'll get fixed with later additions and maybe even retcons...

And on the wider topic of ninja Jimmy Savilles, found it really interesting to see our young MC has actually joined them, you can see him with their hair and tracksuit in the middle of the trailer. In all honesty, this is probably one of a handful of times in the past ten years I've actually been on the hype-train for a piece of media...hope it means something!

Ah ok that makes sense, I didn’t realize it was demographics 28 years ago.

Ahhhh ok that makes sense because I haven’t even visited Scotland let alone grew up there. Thinking about into that perspective I can see why you like it. I agree with your horror point and also I am rarely hyped as much too. This is the first movie in years I’ve gone to the theater to see

The cohesiveness of the tight-knight community with the old buildings in what little we see of them really just reflects how different the country was back in 2002 when the outbreak first happened! You should've seen Britain back then, the 90s spirit was still alive and it really was a place to die for. Loved it so much I would've fought in the GWOT if I was old enough!

Truly, though, made me feel like a little teenager again sneaking off to the theatre with his girlfriend to watch the 18 films that my parents wouldn't let me watch at home. Just hope they keep the year of the outbreak 2002 rather than trying to retcon it to 1997 as they alluded to in the first film, otherwise that'd just ruin the whole point of the first film!

WOWZA I DID NOT EXPECT THIS ANYTIME SOON. Apparently a sequel was shot back to back with 28 Years Later and it will be released in 2026 in January. Same characters as 28Y, a continuation, but apparently Cillian Murphy aka Jim will be in this one too. Can’t wait!!!

bone temple was being filmed back to back with the first story for the purpose of releasing it within six months after the long awaited first story. different director too/; nia dacosta.
*WOULD be a fkn dream if ROB ZOMBIE directs the last trilogy installment ; Even have him cameoed at the end in a single unbroken shot that leaves viewers canning the frame for danger or surprise and prolonging the frame til the tensions excrutiating and fadig into ending credits...
lol could mean more 28ers to come
