It looks like a really good technique for defending yourself against someone who's attacking you while you're sitting down.
Looks more like a way to get a double knockout. Yourself and your opponent. Both of them hit their heads on the ground with the first take down. Going to ground in a street fight is really fucking stupid.

It's actually a common technique in MMA and also in no-gi BJJ.
When done correctly, it's effective.
And yes, you might end up hitting your head. But that can happen when you perform a suplex, too. And that doesn't mean we're going to say a suplex isn't an effective move.
