From what I've read this goes on all the time over there. Because there are no moral underpinnings in their society. Everyone is constantly trying to fuck everyone else out of what they owe them. Because it's all about getting ahead at all costs. Those at the bottom of the social ladder are expected to live in shit and have no rights so very common for employers not to pay people for work they did.
