I've got that fear for every job I take on.
Once the material is installed, it becomes the homeowners property. Meaning that if they don't pay, and I go and do something like this....
I'd be in jail for destruction of property.
The only real assurance of any funds is getting a deposit from them first.....and even then....

Happens very often here as well not at that level that I know of but you can’t blame them. Getting stiffed would anger anyone.
