I don’t know if anyone gave a shit about the previous thread but I thought I’d share the update I received yesterday.
A member of my household bumped into the grandmother involved in the case - she went on to explain that the injuries inflicted on the oldest daughter were the result of her cousin pushing her when the family had been on holiday that week. Apparently social services admitted that they shouldn’t have taken the kids, and they’re getting returned this week. Their mother has apparently found a place of her own and I’m assuming the kids will be going there. They’re safe, and apparently the whole situation was horrific for them, which I don’t doubt.
I don’t buy it at all though, and even if I did, it doesn’t excuse all the other shit I’ve seen them put those kids through, those injuries the oldest daughter had were just the straw that broke the camels back. And besides - black and blue bruising, busted front teeth and a fractured arm just from a small push? I doesn’t add up to me and I don’t trust them. And like I said, that doesn’t change the neglect and abuse I witnessed. But apparently none of that matters, and social services are happy to return them to their mother - the same mother me and multiple others have witnessed verbally abusing them and neglecting them, and have been informed by the girls themselves has physically hurt them. At the very least I hope she’s given some kind of support in raising them by social services, but a support network has never been the issue - she’s a shit parent, she doesn’t care about them, that’s the problem, not her circumstances. I now have to listen to them play the victim card and whine about how social services needlessly took their children away and scarred them in the process - the kids were taken away for a reason, if you didn’t want them to be scarred you shouldn’t have created an environment so toxic that both the law and CPS had to intervene.
But yeah. They’re back in that shit hole, and I sincerely doubt that their situation is going to improve. I have an awful feeling that something terrible is going to have to happen to those girls before CPS even bothers to take a second glance their way. I really hope I’m wrong
