Police Don't fuck with the cops

I have watched this video on multiple sites. Why am I the only person that notices the law enforcement officer drop and recover his sidearm only a few seconds before the shootout begins?

I'm amazed cops are still using the Ford Crown Victoria Interceptor today. It is at least 13 years old, as the St. Thomas Assembly Plant that produced it closed in 2011.

ps--it always amused me that the Ford Crown Vic and the Mercury Grand Marquis (and much later the Lincoln Town Car), all quintessentially "US/American" cars, were produced in Canada.

the crown vic is a tank ... the 5.0 liter Ford v8 is a proven reliable power plant

Right as the officer approached the vehicle door and drew his weapon, he dropped it. Then as soon as he picked up his side arm, the suspect fired breaking the vehicle window. He was a half second from being shot.

This video showed up on TheYNC, documenting reality, and Kaotoc.
