Maybe posturing. I think you know this but for the benefit of others, here is a simple description of a major traumatic bleeding in the head.

There is a tiny bit (a few cc’s) of “free space” in the cranial vault. The only “hole” is at the base of the skull where various structures and nerves exit to the spinal column.

Everything else is filled with CSF, structures and brain. A ruptured artery is like injecting blood into the limited space with a high pressure hose.

The skull is solid but the brain is squishy. The pressure literally forces the brain down into the hole. Death can come quickly. Pressure will keep increasing until it runs out of blood or the heart stops. This can create incredibly high innercranial pressures.

Seeing blood from his ear a second after hitting the asphalt shows that he had a large, high pressure (arterial) bleed.

Posturing and/or seizing fits the picture perfectly.

In the Irkutsk region, a drunk teenager jumped unsuccessfully from a car and fell into a coma.

The drunk graduate was giving his friends a ride on the roof of his car. One of the guys decided to get off the vehicle while it was moving and fell, hitting the back of his head on the asphalt. The victim immediately started bleeding from his ears.

Look it up and I bet you will think back on a number of patients you had with increasing inner-cranial pressure. Immediate posturing (and bleeding from the ears) is a pretty good sign that things are permanently Southbound. The blood and brains have to go somewhere and that’s the only hole in the skull willing to accept travelers.

Not the best way to sign out of this world.
