FYI Eat your Spermidine- to live longer and healthier lives.

In my ongoing quest to study the fundamentals of healthy human life, I have been studying dietary and supplemental nutrition in great depth. Medical School doesn’t teach doctors enough about ‘normal’ things in the body or about nutrition.

The microbiome is still one of the most important factors to manage, as discussed in this thread.

However, there are many other factors that can help us to live healthier, happier and longer lives.

Spermidine is one of these factors. The name comes from it being initially discovered in semen. But we now know it exists in most cells. It helps enhance autophagy, which is the process our bodies use to recycle old cells, removing old parts and clearing harmful waste. As we age, lots of substances, including Spermidine, decline. As a result our bodies can’t rejuvenate as well, leading to ‘aging’ and related diseases.

Increasing the consumption of Spermidine in our diets can keep our vital functions in a more youthful state, potentially increasing healthy life expectancy. Enhanced autophagy seems to be the main function, but there are other beneficial properties such as reduced inflammation.

To boost your levels, eating more vegetables and fruits can help. But the cheapest and most abundant source in terms of easily adding to your diet, is wheat germ. A heaped teaspoon twice a day or a tablespoon on your breakfast makes a significant difference. Wheat germ is easily available online and doesn’t cost much. Our microbiome also produces Spermidine as well as many other beneficial compounds, so increasing dietary fibre is also very good for overall health, disease reduction, improved mental health etc.

Here are a couple of resources which explain more detail…

For the nerds

"Eat more cum"..... uh. I'm good.. . Thanks anyway!!

I do OMAD at least 5 days a week so Im very familiar with autophagy but there is no fucking way Im eating semen, not even my own.

If you chose to go with the gobbling spunk option, you’d be measuring it by the pint. Hence why I suggested wheat germ as the easiest way to boost your levels. 😂

The compound was also isolated from brain tissue and called Neurodine, but the science community reverted back to the name given by the first scientist to discover it. So Spermidine it is.

I am not sure if this is a joke. But I wonder which medschool you went to? If you ever went, you would know nutrition plays only a mere partial role of senescence.
From what you write I can tell you at least studied one single topic of senescence. But in real life medical science does not claim to be an oracle which found a miracle to lifespan expectancy. There is millions before you with a fail rate grater than EU's immigration program, who calimed to have the solution.
I don't want to break your heart and passion for it. But the sad reality, is that a lot of these studies, does not contain a whole lot more than theory and a few mice experiments. Which almost always shows desired results due to financial reasons.
Very often you would f.x. find that the mice lived on average 11 minutes longer than its peers. And the tests was done 20-20 (20 with, 20 without). To simplify - If you put 20 people that eats hamburgers and 20 who dont in a room untill they die, there is still a decent chance that they will live longer, because of the fact that they ate. But my theory about eating hamburgers made you live longer, is according to some - confirmed. And the experiment might be conducted or financed by Mc Donals.

I only knew one guy who was obsessed with age, health and such. He died in a car crash 3 years ago at age 27.

The short answer is: Eat well, exercise and sleep. No miracle pill will make you turn 100, so you will end up waisting much more time looking for that pill then it will ever return in life expectancy.

Not that it counts for much but I can assure you that Flatus is 100% a Doctor, as in real doctor, not a google doctor.

While there's plenty of snake oil being peddled in the name of longevity, there's also some solid science happening, particularly in areas like the microbiome. Sure, some studies might seem like they're just playing with mice and spinning theories, but dismissing everything as bunk is shortsighted. Gut bacteria does impact how we age and certain ailments.

I have a lot of respect for Flatus. He's gone above and beyond, taking the time to share his huge expertise with me privately and guiding me in choosing certain products. Thanks to his advice, I've seen significant improvements in various aspects, including my health. Even minor issues like small patches of eczema have cleared up totally since I started following his recommendations, particularly incorporating more gut-friendly foods into my diet. It's been a couple of years now, and my skin is lovely. And yes, while I've always maintained a healthy lifestyle by eating well, exercising regularly, avoiding smoking and drugs, and consuming alcohol in moderation, Flatus's has absolutely elevated my overall health even further.

I am not a mouse either
I am also not sponsored by Dr Flatus miracle spermidine powder™
