Nobody expects (not even him) that the F16s will generate any kind of change. Not because they were sent late, but because the number Ukraine needs is considerably several times larger. Added to this is the low/no experience / combat experience of the Ukrainian pilots on this platform, which is most important, and how exposed the entire Ukrainian territory is and will continue to be to a Russian attack.

If I had to bet, I would bet that if the F16s ever arrive in Ukraine they will not last long in the sky (they are a main target of propaganda for Russia, like the Leopards and the M1) and even some of them will not even get able to take off....

The only thing I can think of for these F16s to last a while is for them to be flown by USA experienced pilots and to take off from air bases not located within Ukrainian territory. But it is difficult for both things to happen...

Training a pilot on a platform takes at least 1 year. Training so that he is considered to have experience on that platform is no less than 3 years. It is not difficult to fly a combat aircraft, in fact, it is easier than flying many civil aircraft, the difficult thing is knowing how to use it efficiently as a military platform, and the latter takes years. Not just a couple of months...

Regarding the Russian pilots:
- Russian pilots do have a lot of experience, they have been flying their machines for years and they also have combat experience.
- If the Russian pilots can do what they did with this F35 ( theoretically "stealth" ) imagine what they can do against an F16 :
