Plane wreckage with the Malaysian Airlines colours painted on the side linking it to MH370 has reportedly been found in the Philippines. The Star Online reports that police in Malaysia have asked their counterparts in the Philippines to investigate the claims. Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Khalid Abu Bakar said the claim was made by a 46-year-old man on behalf of a relative, who allegedly found the wreckage at Sugbay Island in Tawi Tawi.

Mr Khalid said: "There was no photograph to support the claim so we are relying on our counterpart to check." In a police report, the man said the relative was hunting for birds when they spotted the wreckage.

It is also alleged they managed to get near the wreckage and found skeletal remains in the pilot's chair with the seat belt fastened.

Authorities have called on the public not to speculate on the claimed sighting until officials are able to carry out an investigation. MH370 disappeared in March last year en route from Kuala Lumpur to Beijing with 239 passengers and crew on board, most of them China nationals.

A two-metre piece of wreckage from the plane was recently discovered washed up on Reunion Island.

A teenager hunting for birds in the jungle of a Philippine island claims to have stumbled upon a fuselage “full of skeletons” and a Malaysian flag, and authorities believe it could be from missing Flight MH370.

The coastal wreckage in Tawi Tawi was under investigation by local authorities in Malaysia’s Sabah region Monday.

The finding was reported by Jamil Omar of Borneo, 46, who says his nephew made the grim discovery in September, but didn’t realize what it was as he has no access to television or newspapers.

“There was a skeleton still in the pilot’s seat. The pilot had his safety belt on and the communication gear attached to his head and ears,” Omar told local police, Free Malaysia Today reports.

The youth and pals found “many skeletons” in the fuselage, Omar said, some still wearing seatbelts, and more human bones nearby.

The teen also allegedly swiped a piece of fabric to use as a blanket, only to discover later it was a Malaysian flag.

“I have told the [Department of Civil Aviation] to look into the report. We don’t know if the report is true, so we need to verify it first … Let’s not speculate and give space to the DCA to conduct its investigation,” Malaysian Transport Minister Liow Tiong Lai told local media.

The claim comes five weeks after French experts confirmed a piece of wing that washed up on Reunion Island near Madagascar was indeed from the missing Malaysia Airlines plane.

The Beijing-bound Boeing 777 was carrying 239 passengers and crew members when it vanished into thin air an hour after departing from Kuala Lumpur on March 8 last year.

from business insider, whoever the fuck they are....
The Boeing 777-200ER operating as Malaysia Airlines MH370 at the time it went missing.

Malaysia authorities have received reports that airplane wreckage bearing the nation's flag, along with human remains, has been discovered on Sugbay Island in the Philippines.

The presence of the Malaysian flag has prompted speculation that the wreckage may be that of Malaysia Airlines' missing Flight MH370.

Locals on the island claim to have discovered a wrecked airplane fuselage along with the skeletal remains of the passengers and crew, the Daily Mail reported.

According to reports, a teenager stumbled upon the wreckage while hunting for birds in the jungle. Her uncle, an audio-visual technician, contacted authorities to report the finding.

But the likelihood that MH370 has been found in a Filipino jungle is low.

This latest discovery doesn't fit the flight's projected flight path. Evidence shows that MH370 took off from Kuala Lumpur and flew northeast toward China before turning west over the Malay Peninsula. Investigators believe the aircraft then turned south, flying over the southern Indian Ocean before crashing after running out of fuel.

The search for the Malaysian jet had been focused on a 7.3-million-square-mile area in the southern Indian Ocean off the western coast of Australia.

In July, a piece from the left wing of the Boeing 777-200ER that operated as MH370 was discovered on the French Territory of Reunion Island, in the western Indian Ocean nearly 4,800 miles away from Sugbay Island.

Furthermore, Australia's News.com reported that Filipino police are baffled, as they have not had any recent reports of a plane crash on the island.

MH370 disappeared March 8, 2014, while flying from Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, to Beijing, China.

French police officers inspect a piece of debris from a plane in Saint-Andre, Reunion Island.

The 600,000-pound Boeing 777-200ER — registration number 9M-MRO — vanished with 239 passengers and crew onboard.

Should the wreckage in the Philippines be from MH370, then many theories about the fate of the missing airliner will be proved incorrect.
