Rember Bernhard Goetz? He shot 5 black men on the NYC subway in 1984 after they tried to rob him. The NY DA tried to put him away for life for attempted murder but in the end he just got 6 months for carrying a firearm without a permit (a permit which he tried to legally get but was unconstitutionally denied). All of NYC came out to support him, and they refused to convict him despite him admitting on camera that he took joy in shooting them and would have killed them had he not ran out of bullets. Looking back at the Bernhard Goetz story it is quite clear that it is the foundation for the movie Joker. We need more people like Goetz again.

but here is something fucked up about ny leadership. i worked on the new tappan zee bridge. it was later changed to the mario cuomo bridge,after the governor. well the signs for the bridge were supposed to read, "Mario M Cuomo" bridge. there were a shit ton of signs made state wide for it. the signs read "Mario Cuomo Bridge" the "M" was left out. cuomo being the egomaniac that he is,ordered all the signs be re made and re distributed. at the cost of MILLIONS of tax payers dollars. that didnt go over too well. but id gladly as a tax payer have them changed over to the Tappan Zee Bridge,as originally named. not after some fucking douche bag! no one really calls it the cuomo bridge anyway. people still call it "the tappan zee". only traffic and news call it the cuomo bridge.

Same here. I don't know a single person that refers to it as the Mario Cuomo bridge. They renamed a lot of the bridges & tunnels. No one calls them any of their new names.
