Hey,

Following: I‘ve downloaded a program which was safe to download, virus checked etc.
I suddenly clicked on a ad on the website and it downloaded a program, which I didn’t execute.
Apparently the program started (admin rights) I declined multiple times, since then my data has been locked by vvew encryption.
I tried to uninstall most programs, and delete Hosts etc.

But still like 90% of my data is useless since everything has been changed.

I tried recovering with windows backups, but this fucking virus deleted my image backups.


Is there any way to get this shit deleted without losing all my files? And maybe get a shadow backup or something saved deep in the pc?


I really hope somebody can help!

An .exe file? Do you have the name of it.

I tried to uninstall most programs, and delete Hosts etc.

Try to boot in safe mode if you know how, you need to know what the virus is and what it does then work from there.

Only thing I can think of is remove the hard drive. hook it to another computer. get your data. put the hard drive back in the old computer, reinstall windows.

That might work;Just make sure it's an old Laptop or a Shit Desktop! Just in case the Virus migrates over! AND MAKE SURE YOUR OFFLINE b4 trying to access remaining Data! I hope U don't lose everything Gorefriend!🙏🙏🙏

once you have realised that you've got ransomware you should IMMEDIATELY turn your pc off and remove your drives. The longer it stays on - the more of your data will be encrypted.
And if most of your data got encrypted there is nearly 0 chance to get it back unless it's well know algorythm.

So… the virus is DJUV STOP, which doesn’t lock the files offline, but online, so I have no chance in getting anything back.

I tried to restore shadow backups but they seem to have been removed by the virus, also my recovery data has been infected.
Which means 3 TB of data is lost now.

That’s horrible!!!

Tried recovering with windows on USB stick.
USB Stick is locked now and no access to BIOS anymore.

Gg Wp motherfucking hackers, useless shit.

I don’t fucking understand doing this on random people, I could maybe understand on large servers, but why a single person that isn’t related to any shit besides living most of my daily life on goregrish.

Im so sad, seriously.

If your shadow backups were merely deleted and not encrypted themselves, you might be able to recover the files. You can do this by attaching the hard drive to another computer and then running a recovery software such as DiskDigger to scan that hard drive.

As SP stated, you want to be careful and avoid having the virus mitigate across hard drives. Perhaps the safest thing you can do is buy a a computer, boot Linux on that, attach the hard drive to the computer either directly or using a SATA to USB connector and then run DiskDigger and scan the hard drive.

You want to buy a scrap computer, and not use another computer that you want to keep because even when running Linux, the virus might still transfer and activate once you restart Windows so best you "sacrifice" a scrap computer instead if it comes to that.

Your first mistake was assuming you're safe from any ransomware downloads on any website. Your second mistake was mentioning you clicked on an ad on the website. If it's a pirate site, that's all on you and should probably learn how to back your shit up. If it was on here, that's highly unlikely since this website doesn't have ads on it. (That I can see, and I use both PC and mobile.) Your final mistake was....coming onto Goregrish to find a solution rather than an actual IT website that may have the information needed to recover your missing data. If your hard drive or PC is still under warranty, contact the seller/manufacturer to get it repaired/replaced.

Why do you think I'm excited when I see Indians get their asses handed to them. Or ANY known scammer country? My husband had a ransomware issue before as well. Almost got me. By a mere fluke of programming, the ransomware program did not account for a chance that I was going to open a game that killed the virus (more or less). No idea how or why, but the same ransomware that wiped my husband's computer could not handle the power of a simple game programmed by a single man 13 years ago.

The only thing I've ever run into are the annoying fake Microsoft warnings that disable your mouse and I have to do the Ctrl-Alt-Del and kill Chrome from Task Manager. I guess my popup blocker doesn't block them. The first time I went into a panic, when my mouse didn't respond I ran over and jerked the plug out of the wall. Then when I turned my comp back on and went to Chrome it was still there. Once you delete your data it goes away. Was at TheYnc. Do they know it's from their site or are the being hijacked too?
