Let It All Bleed Out
Rostov and Moscow, Russia
June 23, 2023

"The owner of the Wagner private military contractor made his most direct challenge to the Kremlin yet on Friday, calling for an armed rebellion aimed at ousting Russia's defense minister. The security services reacted immediately by calling for the arrest of Yevgeny Prigozhin and opening a criminal investigation.

In a sign of how seriously the Kremlin was taking the threat, security was heightened in Moscow and in Rostov-on-Don, which is home to the Russian military headquarters for the southern region and also oversees the fighting in Ukraine.

While the outcome of the confrontation was still unclear, it appeared likely to further hinder Moscow's war effort as Kyiv's forces were probing Russian defenses in the initial stages of a counteroffensive.

Yevgeny Prigozhin, 'Putin's Chef,' has emerged from the shadows with his Wagner Group

Prigozhin claimed early Saturday that his forces had crossed into Russia from Ukraine and had reached Rostov, saying they faced no resistance from young conscripts at checkpoints and that his forces "aren't fighting against children."

"But we will destroy anyone who stands in our way," he said in one of a series of angry video and audio recordings posted on social media beginning late Friday. "We are moving forward and will go until the end."

He claimed that the chief of the General Staff, Gen. Valery Gerasimov, scrambled warplanes to strike Wagner's convoys, which were driving alongside ordinary vehicles.

Despite Prigozhin's statements that Wagner convoys had entered Rostov-on-Don, there was no confirmation of that yet on Russian social networks. Videos showed heavy trucks blocking highways leading to the city, long convoys of National Guard trucks were seen on a road outside Rostov-on-Don and armored vehicles were roaming the streets.

Prigozhin said Wagner field camps in Ukraine were struck by rockets, helicopter gunships and artillery fire on orders from Gerasimov following a meeting with Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu, at which they decided to destroy Wagner.

The Wagner forces have played a crucial role in Russia's war in Ukraine, succeeding in taking the city where the bloodiest and longest battles have taken place, Bakhmut. But Prigozhin has increasingly criticized Russia's military brass, accusing it of incompetence and of starving his troops of weapons and ammunition.

Prigozhin said late Friday his troops would punish Shoigu in an armed rebellion and urged the army not to offer resistance. "This is not a military coup, but a march of justice," Prigozhin declared.

The National Anti-Terrorism Committee, which is part of the Federal Security Services, or FSB, has charged him with calling for an armed rebellion, which carries a penalty of up to 20 years in prison.

The FSB urged Wagner's contract soldiers to arrest Prigozhin and refuse to follow his "criminal and treacherous orders." It called his statements a "stab in the back to Russian troops" and said they amounted to fomenting an armed conflict in Russia.

President Vladimir Putin has been informed about the situation and "all the necessary measures were being taken," Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said."

In other words, no one panic, there is no panic...

What's really crazy is if Putin dies or becomes incapacitated the entire Russian state may just collapse. Remember in 1991 when Gorbachev went on vacation and the Soviet Union bassically descended into civil war while he was away?

Shit's scary as fuck, since 1993 when Yeltsin shelled the Russain parliment with tanks, and dissolved the Russian Republic (killing 2,000 of his own people) in favor of autocracy (with Putin as his hand-selected successor) the Cold War has essentially been continuing. But since it is no longer under Communism nobody pays much attention to it anymore.

Russia still has tons of nukes, nothing much has changed. If Putin dies, those nukes are up for grabs to whoever in Russia seizes power from the vaccum first - including people who will sell them or use them for whatever crazy Russian reason.

This begs the question: is Prigozhin on the CIA payroll? Did he get a cut of the 6 billion “accounting error” of my tax money that the Pentagon released to :cgas: Kraine earlier this week?

"The head of the private Russian military force Wagner said Saturday he has ordered his mercenaries to halt their march on Moscow and retreat to their field camps in Ukraine to avoid shedding Russian blood.

The announcement from Yevgeny Prigozhin appeared to defuse a dramatically escalating crisis that represented the most significant challenge to President Vladimir Putin’s leadership in his more than two decades in power.

Moscow had braced for the arrival of a private army led by the rebellious mercenary commander by erecting checkpoints with armored vehicles and troops on its southern edge. Red Square was shut down, and the mayor urged motorists to stay off some roads.

Prigozhin said that while his men were just 200 kilometers (120 miles) from Moscow, he decided to turn them back to avoid “shedding Russian blood.”

He didn’t say whether Moscow has responded to his demand to oust Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu. There was no immediate comment from the Kremlin.

The announcement followed a statement from the office of Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko saying that he had negotiated a deal with Prigozhin after discussing the issue with Putin. Prigozhin agreed to halt the advance in a proposed settlement that contains security guarantees for Wagner troops, Lukashenko’s office said. It didn’t elaborate.

Putin had vowed harsh consequences for organizers of the armed uprising led by his onetime protege, who brought his forces out of Ukraine, seized a key military facility in southern Russia and advanced toward Moscow.

In a televised speech to the nation, Putin called the rebellion a “betrayal” and “treason.”

“All those who prepared the rebellion will suffer inevitable punishment,” Putin said. “The armed forces and other government agencies have received the necessary orders.”

Authorities declared a “counterterrorist regime” in the capital and its surrounding region, enhancing security and restricting some movement.

On the southern outskirts, troops erected checkpoints, arranged sandbags and set up machine guns.

Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin warned that traffic could be restricted in parts of the capital and declared Monday a non-working day for most residents.

Crews dug up sections of highways to slow the march of the Wagner mercenary army. Access to Red Square was closed, two major museums were evacuated and a park was shut.

Prigozhin’s private army appeared to control the military headquarters in Rostov-on-Don, a city 660 miles (over 1,000 kilometers) south of Moscow that runs Russian operations in Ukraine, Britain’s Ministry of Defense said.

Wagner troops and equipment also were in Lipetsk province, about 360 kilometers (225 miles) south of Moscow, where authorities “are taking all necessary measures to ensure the safety of the population,” said regional Gov. Igor Artamonov, via Telegram. He did not elaborate.

The dramatic developments came exactly 16 months after Russia launched its full-scale invasion of Ukraine, Europe’s largest conflict since World War II, which has killed tens of thousands, displaced millions and reduced cities to rubble."

Meanwhile some of losses Wagner reportedly incurred on the Russian air force. It was interesting while it lasted - some severe dysfunction over there; Putin should have clamped down on Progozhin a long time ago.

Yes, was gonna post that one, but had no gore, lol, just a rear-lines Wagner base camp, garbage and broken trees. Prigozhin had said a large number of his mercs had been killed there...but where are they? Someone must have revived them so they could go to Rostov...they'd be like Zagber Zombies. Well now we can not look forward to him posting from his new home in Belarus....:blegh:

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

And, June 24, 2023, Skynews reports that...

Wagner's assault will be 'big embarrassment' for Putin and shows how 'fragile' his regime is

"Wagner's assault on Russia will be a "big embarrassment" for Vladimir Putin, the executive director of the Anti Corruption Foundation has said.

Speaking to Sky News, Vladimir Ashurkov said Yevgeny Progozhin probably sensed the "mortal danger he was in" before announcing a de-escalation of his revolt, but it's too soon to say "if this is the end".

"The important thing is that he is a brutal warlord but he is not dumb," he said.

"I think he counted on some support in the Kremlin, in Russian power structures, and we do not know what kind of deal he was made with Vladimir Putin through Lukashenko."

An agreement to stop Wagner troops continuing their advance was brokered between Prigozhin and the Russian president through the leader of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko.

"Any positive change in Russia will start with some turmoil and instability, whether this is the start of such instability we don't know but for sure we see that Putin's regime is quite fragile," Mr Ashurkov added.

"It's a big embarrassment for Putin.""

Obviously staged video, a classic false flag.
