Some additional info on Kenneth Bianchi's solo double murder in Bellingham that led to the capture of both Hillside Stranglers:
Bianchi had a job working as patrol security after moving with his girlfriend to Bellingham in late May of 1978 after the last of the Hillside Stranglers murders had ended in Feb 1978.
He also applied to be a reserve deputy for the Whatcom County Sheriffs Dept and Bianchi took police courses for this application.
In January of 1979, Bianchi offered a "job" to Karen Mandic, 22, a girl he knew who worked at the shopping center he patrolled for his security firm. He offered Mandic and her roommate Diane Wilder, 27, each $100 to guard a residence for two hours while the security alarm system was repaired on Jan 11 1979.
Mandic's boyfriend was told about the "secret" late night job with Bianchi and promptly went to police after the girls failed to return the next morning.
Mandic's 1978 Mercury Bobcat was found Jan 12 with both bodies inside the vehicle. (pics of 2 bodies in dark colored car)
A search of Bianchi's house revealed evidence such as a note with Mandics name on it and matching carpet fibers from the fresh bodies were found.

There is also 9 additional murders in Washington that they consider his that he has so far denied. However when the Sentencing Review Board review his case to move on to the next charge they take into consideration those nine additional cases that are identical to his pled and proven cases. The only difference in one of the cases is that it is a female child..
