What are your thoughts on assisted suicide?

Yes you’re right. Suicide by your own hand is legal.

But yet assisted is still illegal in many countries. I work in the mortuary profession and I’ve heard so many families talk about the right to die on your own terms. It’s truly stupid to me why we can’t go out like a dog or cat would.
not in the states
Section 57—Abetment of Suicide. Attempted Suicide. (1) Whoever abets the commission of suicide by any person shall whether or not the suicide be actually committed, be guilty of first degree felony. (2) Whoever attempts to commit suicide shall be guilty of a misdemeanour.

Bad idea, If I want to die, I can do it myself, my family or my enemies, not some fucking sucking technocrat that is going to analyse me, categorise me and decide for me how to die "peacefully." FUCK OFF!!!

I think if ur gonna approve assisted suicide for anything mental illness related then they should first be given free therapy and treatment including ketamine infusions shit like that like basically everything and if that still doesn’t change their minds then whatever .But ofc state will never care about their citizens enough to do all of that

Should be a human right.. along with paid sick leave, paid maternity leave, decent pay, children's check, SU (amount government are giving you for free to study), "free" (paid via taxes) healthcare and education.

You could have summed that up as you want good things
In hindsight, you should have just said you wanted good shit
No one asked, but here is my opinion…
I think free healthcare is cool.

Any American that opposes that idea just doesn’t like people. I’m an American, and I like the idea of free healthcare. I’m sure this comment doesn’t have to do with the OP anymore, as I went on a mini rant, but I might as well finish it

Well I said exactly what I wanted, think and mean. And here goes my adhd brain trying to figure out why you think that is wrong 😂 You will now be a part of my day... maybe my dreams as well🤣.

Here in my country every parent gets a "childrens check" every 3month...just because. Rich/poor dosnt matter. The amount vary depending on how many children and what age. If you are a single parent or not. I get approx 715$. This check stops when they turn 18.

We are extremely spoiled here and have extremely many choices. Free to do what we want. Endless possibilities.

But when it comes to assisted death..... nopes. No. And noooo! And this is in my opinion just super wrong. Why will you force someone to choke to death in their own blood, just for the sake of keeping them alive? Is life that precious.. that we prefer to drag ppl through hell, and rather than let them go with dignity? Is it really that we fear death that much?
Why do you want humans to suffer all in the name of life?
It is absolutely inhumane, especially in a country as mine, and I think the contrast is absurd.

You can have everything. You can do anything. We will give you every opportunity in life.... but you don't get to decide when this life is over, you even if you suffer horrendously.

In my neighborhood, like 7m away, my neighbor got cancer in the throat. His future would be choking to death in his own blood. He hang himself. And that's messy for everyone. Had he just had the freedom of choice, to leave in dignity and peace.

Of course that opportunity shouldn't be granted for teens who lost their bf or gf.

But some ppl will also never recover from mental illness. They will never have choices and quality of life. Every treatment failed, they should also have the choice, the opportunity, the freedom to leave in peace and with dignity.

*my English sucks... so deal with the bad grammar 😂

If I was dying and in horrible pain then I’d do that through medical procedures Yknow?
But that’s as far as I’d go for it.

I, personally, don’t have a stance on MAID (Medical Aid in Dying), but I was wondering what you all thought about assisted suicide. Should it be legal everywhere?
I bet they just did this for Queen Elizabeth after she ran out of andrenochrome! My father just died on Thursday, I am so thankful he didn't suffer like his mother! She lived with a feeding tube with alzheimers from the age of 85 until she passed away at 100! So sad to watch!

What's this adrenochrome bullshit? You don't think someone can live to 96 years old? I'm so tired of these conspiracy theories

I say do it yourself. If your gonna commit to one thing in your life it might as well be pulling the trigger.

Everyone should have access to assisted suicide, not just the terminally ill

I worked with a man who chose this. He had a chronic degenerative disease. was supposed to die within six months, chose to die within two weeks of hearing that news. His penis was so swollen from how tight the catheter was in there that every little movement he made was excruciating. the inside of his penis constantly leaked little droplets of blood Out the tip.
