Got tired of playing violent games and wanted to see how real life fared in comparison. Gotta say, some types of gore are far easier to watch than others. Torture was ok, but beheadings and skinnings were absolutely revolting. It's a pretty delicate balance of intrigue, disgust, guilt, and pleasure- one that sways from video to video. Not sure how I felt in the first place- and i'm still insure now.

The firs time I was exposed to anything resembling gore is when a middle school classmate brought in a comic and showed me a pretty gory still from it. Aside from that, my most recent exposure to gore was through Encyclopedia Dramatica and the archives of Rotten and Ogrish. I guess I was shocked when I first saw IRL Gore... but as time went by, I kinda became, well, fucking fascinated with it.

Pretty sure my first gore vid was 1 man 1 jar back in the day if that even counts. A couple of years back I watched though the mdpope trilogy and that has possibly one of the worst clips of a few kids burning a puppy alive in alcohol and torturing it. I don’t remember a massive amount about it tbh except for being really shocked that there are so many people who record themselves committing murders. Way to self-snitch.

The first time I watched gore was back in the 80s, by renting a series of videotapes called Faces of Death. I remember having a sense that life was a lot scarier and more painful than my sanitized suburban upbringing made it out to be, and I wanted to know The Truth about the bad things that could happen. The videos were sometimes difficult to watch, but I felt edified.

The first gore I ever saw online, though, back in the 90s, was traumatic, not instructive. I accidentally found some clips of Japanese animal torture porn (just on what appeared to be someone's regular home page) and before I understood what it was going to be, I'd already seen a woman in high heels crush a chick. Further down the page there were links that included reference to puppies and kittens. I couldn't bear to watch those, and am very glad I hadn't clicked one of those first. Knowing that people could be that evil and twisted was traumatic.

I was ashamed at first but I can't get enough of it now. I even turned my wife on to it.

My first video was a jihadi beheading video yelling "Allahu akbar!". I didn't feel anything besides curiosity. Some gore are alright, others make me want to puke.

I don't remember what I first watched on my own. I just know what I saw lit some really wild fire in me. & I'd get an adrenaline rush from it & I could feel a lot of shit shifting around & shutting off & turning on in my brain. I liked the way it made me feel. It calmed something inside of me. So I kept doing it.

First time with ISIS videos in high school (used rotten, ogrish and liveleak iirc).

I was so amazed while at the same time trying not to retch/puke.

Was so facinating, like finding uncensored japanese porn (though gore didn't disappoint).

Back in 2010 when I first watched gore, I was with my older brother. It was around midnight when it happened. Keep in mind that I was 6 years old. He was on liveleak, watching, iirc, an Indian getting sliced up with an machete. I felt uncomfortable for a moment, and was traumatized but my brother noticed and made me watch gore with him. I've gotten used to it rather quickly, and now here I am 14 years later.
