The sculpture Primitive irruption by the Mexican artist José Dávila that at the beginning of May was installed in the promenade of Can Pastilla has appeared abandoned in a plot of land in Calvià. The piece, donated by the private gallery Kewenig to the Town Hall, is part of the municipal artistic heritage. The Councilor of Culture, Javier Bonet, has explained that the piece was uninstalled last month, without any problem, and that a contracted company was to put it ready and store it. If it is confirmed that the work is in the conditions shown in the images, the Consistory will take legal action against the company.
Bonet confirmed that the City Council commissioned the removal and relocation of this sculpture by Dávila as it considered that its location, on the Platja de Palma promenade, was not the most suitable. For this task a company trusted by the artist, with experience in this kind of works and specialized in wrought iron, was hired. A Cort technician supervised the dismantling of the work, which was carried out without any problem, last July 24. The next step, as indicated to the company, was to take the piece to a workshop for its preparation and storage, according to the head of the area of Culture.
