Personally i would have sided with the union as i would have believed in the destruction of slavery and the destruction of a rebellion led by a aristocratic class

I'm an Ohioan, so I would have been with the union just because of my partiality to my home and my state. I wouldn't want to join the CSA and find myself tasked with raiding my hometown. Kentucky, our southern neighbor, was a holdout state, so nearby family could have caught a train out of there in time to avoid the battles.

Im from east tennessee, and about 80 to 90 percent of people in east tennesee supported the union, about 31k troops of tennesse, most from the east joined the union army

I'd join the Confederacy and persuade them to round up all slaves and send them back to Africa and then make peace with the Union.

I'd persuade them on financial grounds.

I'd then round up all the red indians and send them back to Africa too...

I'd then set up a 'White America' policy and not allow anyone in who is not European.

Then I'd go forward to 2023 and sit back and say 'wow, look, no one plays basket ball now...
