Their entire strategy the whole war has been to withdraw on contact and hit them with artillery and bring the fight to the south and east. There's a referendum taking place in Donbass, Kherson, and Zaporozhye starting on the 23rd of this month

I think the element of surprise, if any really existed in the first place would have been lost in the attempt on Zelensky, but since the Ukrainians didn't cut off the Russian move East from Kiev and force the Russians back the route they invaded from they will never get it back again. Russians didnt shoot in the Ucrainian civilians But Zelensky put civilians as shields and ambushed russian forces.As a result Kiev Got Bombed
