23yo Florian Flegel, from Ratingen, Germany, had been staying with friends in London when he sent messages containing extremist material to his friend in Germany about the terrorist group ISIS. He sent videos of beheadings and even discussed a potential attack on a football stadium. He was arrested on 12th October 2020 by counter terrorism police at Stansted Airport where he was due to board a flight to Cologne. The arresting officers found terrorist propaganda on his phone.
He was recently jailed for 3 years and 8 months after admitting to six terrorism charges. Additionally, the Counter Terrorism Act dictates that Flegel will be subject to a 10 year notification requirement upon his release.

Florian Flegel, 23, was jailed for three and a half years after he was caught with terrorist propaganda, including footage of a beheading, on his phone as he tried boarding a flight in Stansted Airport.
