so what do you think of probiotics then and what do you recommend?
I think they are very important to have, as well as a decent amount of pre-biotics to feed the probiotic bacteria. The research is really showing amazing things about how healthy microbiomes can reduce the risk of huge amounts of diseases, including cancers, and even improve many that are already established (eg dementia, ADHD, autoimmune diseases, depression, diabetes, obesity etc).
Inulin powder is the easiest way of getting more pre-biotics, having 2 teaspoons a day spread out. Foods like onions, beans and anything that makes you fart are pre-biotic rich.
I think the Bio-Kult pro-biotic capsules (the original is fine) are the best available in the UK and they have a USA site too so should be available to most people. The wider the range of good bacteria the better. I take one a day as well as a range of foods below.
Any bacteria fermented food such as kimchi or sour kraut, live yoghurts (best are the kefir types), pro-biotic drinks like Yakult, kombucha…
The fermented foods tend to have strong colony forming bacteria so don’t need to be eaten daily if you’re taking a probiotic capsule and having Inulin too.
